“Where is the fun in trolling someone?"

Natasha Hussain came under fire for labelling Shahroz Sabzwari as a product of nepotism.

Appearing on Chocolate Times, the model spoke about Shahroz and claimed he gained his name through nepotism.

She said: “I don’t really consider him [Sabzwari] an actor. But his father is a great actor.”

Host Ayesha Jahanzeb asked: “So Natty, you’re saying that Shahroz got his father’s platform and if he was a common actor, he may not be getting such big projects?”

Natasha agreed with the question.

However, Natasha’s comments sparked outrage.

Actress Yashma Gill angrily commented:

“Why ask such questions in the first place? And what a hypocritical statement to give ‘This is just for fun’.

“Where is the fun in trolling someone? No matter who the actor is and what background they come from, we all work beyond our physical abilities to try and do justice to our job.

“Such remarks shouldn’t be invited through such questions in the first place.

“And even if nepotism exists in the country, your contacts may give you an existing platform, but making a name for yourself depends entirely on the actor.

“And the amount of talent they have and the hard work they’re willing to put in. Period.”

Designer Humayun Alamgir said:

“Shahroz has been acting for 25 plus years, since childhood actually. What is she talking about!”

One person accused Natasha of hypocrisy as her daughter, Tania Hussain, is an actress and therefore, a product of nepotism.

The user wrote: “Although her daughter is a product of nepotism, calling Shahroz a nepo baby is an insult to nepotism.

“We all know he isn’t a good actor, but neither is her daughter so what’s the point?”

Responding to the backlash, Natasha Hussain issued an apology.

She said: “I heartily apologise for this statement of mine. I said it but I didn’t mean it!

“Shahroz Sabzwari is a very good actor; it just came out wrong!”

“Pakistan is facing so much, yet people have ample free time on their hands to sit back and blow everything out of proportion.”

Laila Wasti also came forward and called for better composition and unity in the entertainment industry.

She spoke about the need for more meaningful segments instead of coaxing actors to speak about one another in order for views.

The statement was directed towards Ayesha Jahanzeb, who is known for asking guests negative questions about members of the industry.

Shahroz Sabzwari, who is the son of legendary actor Behroz Sabzwari and nephew of actor Javed Sheikh, has not yet responded to the comments.

Sana is from a law background who's pursuing her love of writing. She likes reading, music, cooking and making her own jam. Her motto is: "Taking the second step is always less scarier than taking the first."
