"It is imperative for us to give back."
Mahira Khan dazzled fans at a charity fundraiser in Houston with her signature blend of grace, style, and humility.
The Neelofar actor arrived in a stunning ensemble designed by Iqbal Hussain.
Her outfit featured a turquoise-blue long kurta crafted from self-jamawar fabric, exuding timeless sophistication.
The vintage-cut kurta featured a band gala neckline and was heavily embellished with sequins, zardozi, marrori, and nakshi, creating intricate paisley motifs across its surface.
Mahira paired it with an old-school blue shalwar made of pure raw silk that mirrored the detailing of the kurta.
The border of the trousers shimmered with fine hand embroidery using zardozi, kaamdani, and sikka patti work.
While the ensemble also comes with a dupatta, Mahira confidently chose to skip it.
To complete her look, she wore Gianvito Rossi sandals and minimal accessories, allowing the craftsmanship of the outfit to take centre stage.
The charity lunch was organised by the Momina & Duraid Foundation and saw several prominent names in attendance.
This included Bushra Ansari, Humayun Saeed, Faysal Quraishi, and Adnan Siddiqui.
The event was not only a star-studded affair but also a heartfelt celebration of giving back and community service.
A video circulating online shows Mahira delivering an emotional speech in which she spoke about gratitude and generosity.
She said: “Allah tests us by giving and by taking. When He blesses us, it is imperative for us to give back.
“That’s the circle of life – when something comes to you, you must share it.”
In her speech, she also expressed affection for producer Duraid Qureshi, saying:
“Your childhood dream has come true.”
Adding her signature wit, Mahira teased her fellow actors Humayun Saeed, Faysal Quraishi, and Adnan Siddiqui as the “naughty ones.”
The light-hearted exchange drew laughter from the audience, especially when Adnan Siddiqui responded with a playful poem.
Just a day earlier, Mahira graced the red carpet at the 10th Hum Awards in an ivory georgette saree, also by Iqbal Hussain.
The saree featured intricate silk thread and lurex aari embroidery, paired with a delicate Sherezad Rahimtoola jewellery set and silver bangles.
Her look struck the perfect balance between elegance and simplicity, earning widespread praise from fashion critics and fans alike.
Mahira Khan’s presence in Houston was not limited to glamour and goodwill.
She also used the occasion to connect with her audience and promote her upcoming film Neelofar, in which she stars opposite Fawad Khan.
The film’s teaser, recently released online, has received immense love for its soulful tone and visuals.
