"So, we're the same, basically."
Ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, Kareena Kapoor joined Lando Norris for a lighthearted chat about cinema, racing and Indian gestures over a cup of masala chai.
With the race taking place on October 11, the actress met with the McLaren driver beforehand, with Google India sharing a video on Instagram.
Kareena’s appearance at the Singapore Grand Prix was confirmed earlier on October 9 when McLaren F1 welcomed her to its Papaya Family, the official global community and fan base of the team.
Sharing a photograph of the actress on Instagram, the team wrote:
“The newest member of the Papaya Family, Kareena Kapoor Khan.”
Kareena also shared pictures from her time in the paddock, which included Lando signing some shirts for her.
In the video shared by Google India, Kareena opened the conversation with a playful reference to her husband Saif Ali Khan’s onscreen racing career.
Referring to his role as a racing driver in the 2007 film Ta Ra Rum Pum, she joked about him winning the “world championship” 19 years ago.
A stunned Lando replied “really” before quipping:
“So, we’re the same, basically.”
The conversation then turned to the Brit’s Formula 1 career, with Kareena putting the driver through a rapid-fire round of questions about his wins and McLaren’s history in the sport.
The actress also introduced him to Indian masala chai before challenging him to decipher common Indian gestures, giving the interaction a distinctly Desi twist.
In the comments section, fans admitted the meeting was unexpected.
One wrote:
“Never knew I needed this crossover until now.”
Another said: “How has the universe got these 2 together?”
