Kangana Ranaut declares Brahmastra a ‘Disaster’ - f

"He is more interested in everyone’s sex life."

The much-anticipated film Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, was released on September 9, 2022, and it has garnered mixed reviews.

Kangana Ranaut too joined those panning the film and said director Ayan Mukerji has “burnt 600 crores to ashes”.

Kangana took to her Instagram Story and first slammed Karan Johar.

The actor wrote: “People like Karan Johar should be questioned for their conduct.

“He is more interested in everyone’s sex life than in his films scripts. He self admittedly buys reviews, stars, and fake collection numbers and tickets.

“This time around he tried to ride Hinduism and south wave.”

She then accused Karan of begging South Indian actors and directors to promote his film Brahmastra.

South Indian star Nagarjuna is also a part of Brahmastra and recently Jr. NTR and SS Rajamouli promoted the film in Hyderabad.

She added: “They will do everything but not hire competent writers, directors, actors and other talents… why not in the first place hire those they went begging to fix this disaster called Brahmastra.”

Kangana Ranaut did not spare director Ayan Mukerji either and wrote:

“Everyone who called Ayan Mukerji a genius should be jailed immediately…

“He took 12 years to make this film, he replaced 14 DOP he shot for more than 400 days for this film and changed 85 ADs and burnt 600 crores to ashes.

“Also tried to exploit religious sentiments by changing the film name from Jalaluddin Rumi to Shiva last minute, because of Bahubali success….

“Such opportunists, such creativity deprived people, success-starved greedy people if called geniuses then it’s not manipulation but a well thought of a strategy to call din ko raat and raat ko din…”

Although Brahmastra has seen a healthy opening, it has received mixed reviews.

India Today called the film a solid opening in the franchise and said that it has the potential to compete with Hollywood’s Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

In its review, NDTV wrote: “Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, ambitious and entertaining, has the makings of a blockbuster of the sort that Bollywood has been desperately seeking for a while.”

However, Financial Express was not a fan of the film.

The review stated that Mouni Roy and the songs were the only positive aspects.

According to Financial Express, the VFX was a disappointment given that director Ayan Mukerji promised it would rival the MCU, concluding that Brahmastra might be okay for children.

Similarly, The Wire said Brahmastra “lacks vitality, momentum, and intrigue”.

On the work front, Kangana Ranaut will next be seen in the film Emergency. The actor is also directing the film.

Ravinder is a Journalism BA graduate. She has a strong passion for all things fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. She also likes to watch films, read books and travel.
