"It was just baffling - that was embarrassing."
Harpreet Kaur was not impressed by Lawrence Rosenberg’s performance and boardroom decisions, following the latest episode of The Apprentice.
The candidates were tasked with building demos and brands of a virtual reality fitness game.
Lawrence was the Project Manager of Team Eclipse but from the outset, his team was at a disadvantage as he failed to give his team a clear vision of what he wanted.
This left Rajan Gill, Pascha Myhill and Rothna Akhtar clueless as to what to develop. Ultimately, they created a game where players had to defeat frog-like characters while exercising.
Lawrence’s team ended up securing £55,000, almost four times less than the other team.
Lawrence chose to bring Rajan back into the final boardroom due to his lack of contribution.
But he also chose to bring Levi Hague back based on comments made about him by Lord Sugar, prompting severe criticism.
Believing Lawrence “didn’t have a clue” why the task failed, Harpreet, who is working with Sky Vegas, exclusively told DESIblitz:
“I wasn’t surprised that Lawrence brought back Levi into the boardroom, because I honestly felt like Lawrence didn’t have a clue as to how or why the task had failed.
“I felt like he really lost his way. He didn’t have a good grip on what was going on with the task.
“He almost wanted to control everyone but then didn’t have a clue what he was doing himself. That’s the impression I got.”
On Lawrence’s reasons for bringing back Levi, she added:
“It was just baffling – that was embarrassing.”
Lord Sugar was on the verge of firing Lawrence for his “nasty move” but ultimately, Rajan was fired.
Although Harpreet understood Lord Sugar’s decision, she sympathised with Rajan:
“Lord Sugar assesses everyone week after week, and in the boardroom, he said he was following his gut feeling.
“At the end of the day, he can only pick one winner, so if he doesn’t want to go into business with you, you’re going to have to go sooner rather than later.
“But I didn’t really want to see Rajan go. I feel like he did try and speak up about the video game with Rothna and that he wasn’t really heard from the girls.
“I don’t think Lawrence handled this week very well at all. And whilst one could say that Lawrence should have been fired, it just depends on the other weeks as well.
“Lord Sugar and the team, Tim [Campbell] and Baroness Karren [Brady], have obviously not seen much from Rajan that they think should allow him to progress in the process.
“So, it is a shame though – I didn’t really want to see Rajan go.”
Meanwhile, Harpreet was full of praise for Karishma Vijay, who almost single-handedly led the team in every aspect.
“Karishma should have been on the pitch, but obviously her team won anyway.
“I thought she was amazing. She should have been the Project Manager. But I mean, it makes no difference, because she clearly shone through and she was noticed.
“Honestly, I feel like she could have done that task single-handedly.”
“Her gaming knowledge – she knew from start to finish what a good game is. She controlled it. She understood it.
“She didn’t just know it at surface level; she understood it. So, she could have been Project Manager.
“But it doesn’t matter too much because she’s shone throughout the process. She shone without being the Project Manager.
“If you’re not the Project Manager, then you essentially have less influence. But she managed to influence the whole task even though she wasn’t in a position of authority.
“So funnily enough, it made her look even stronger.”
