"The star of Brahmastra is Mouni Roy."

Mouni Roy is receiving a lot of love for her performance as Junoon in Brahmastra.

The fantasy film was released on September 9, 2022, and it has had mixed reviews.

But viewers have unanimously praised Mouni Roy’s role in the film.

Prior to the film’s release, many assumed that she would have a small role.

But Mouni has a presence throughout Brahmastra as the antagonist.

She is a loyalist who wants to reincarnate Brahma Dev by bringing together the three pieces of the most powerful weapon on Earth, the ‘Brahmastra’.

On social media, Mouni has received a lot of praise.

One person wrote: “Appreciate tweet for Mouni Roy she is doing such an amazing job in Brahmastra what an actor she is.”

Another viewer commented: “The star of Brahmastra is Mouni Roy.

“She got the memo, knew exactly what had to be done – she just understood the vision and her character. She understood the mythology, the astras, the power they wield and most importantly, the respect they deserve.”

A third user was convinced by Mouni’s villainous role and called her the “queen of darkness”.

One person had mixed feelings about Brahmastra but loved Mouni in the film, writing:

“Not a fan of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt but trust me, they acted so well in the movie.

“Mouni Roy every single second of your screen time was worth watching, love to see you more on big screens, you just nailed it darling.”

Another person commented: “Mouni Roy as Junoon killed her role.”

Although Brahmastra has seen a healthy opening, it has had mixed reviews.

India Today called the film a solid opening in the franchise and said that it has the potential to compete with Hollywood’s Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

In its review, NDTV wrote:

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, ambitious and entertaining, has the makings of a blockbuster of the sort that Bollywood has been desperately seeking for a while.”

However, Financial Express was not a fan of the film.

The review stated that Mouni Roy and the songs were the only positive aspects.

According to Financial Express, the VFX was a disappointment given that director Ayan Mukerji promised it would rival the MCU, concluding that Brahmastra might be okay for children.

Similarly, The Wire said Brahmastra “lacks vitality, momentum, and intrigue”.

At the end of Brahmastra, the sequel was announced, titled Brahmastra Part Two: Dev.

It has now led to speculation as to who will be in the second instalment, with rumours that Ranveer Singh and Hrithik Roshan have been approached for the role.
