"Jazbaat is the most personal song I’ve ever made."
Jaz Dhami has released ‘Jazbaat’ and the music video displays his most authentic self.
This deeply personal song sheds light on the singer’s cancer battle and the emotional journey behind it. At the same time, the track celebrates how far Jaz has come.
Jaz is known for blending traditional Punjabi beats with contemporary flair.
This is highlighted in ‘Jazbaat’ as he reflects on resilience, loyalty and staying true to oneself through life’s difficult moments.
A play on the word Jazbaat (Jaz-baat), translated to sentiments or emotions, and that’s exactly what Jaz has laid bare in this record.

Along with a vibey beat by Starboy X, the song captures Jaz Dhami’s determination to rise above adversity despite living with cancer.
It also presents Jaz as an anchor of support for his family with his brother DJ Harvey, who was diagnosed shortly after with terminal brain cancer.
The music video also has a personal touch as it was filmed in Handsworth, Birmingham, in the house where Jaz was born and raised.
‘Jazbaat’ featured Mani Longia and he filmed his parts in Jaz’s home in Sandhra Sodhia, Punjab.
Jaz said: “Jazbaat is the most personal song I’ve ever made.
“With the journey I’ve been on these past two years, it has taught me so much about life, loyalty and being grateful for everything I’m blessed with.
“And that’s what’s been encapsulated in this song.
“Working with Starboy and Mani Longia was an incredible experience, Mani’s ability to capture raw emotion and translate it into powerful lyrics was exactly what I needed for this track.
“He really understood my journey and helped bring my story to life in a way that feels authentic and true.”
The music video was co-directed by Jaz and Sam Malhi.
The idea was to present where he has come from to where he is at now.

Jaz’s wife and children are in a music video for the first time and throughout ‘Jazbaat’, every person has a close connection to Jaz.
In September 2024, Jaz Dhami publicly revealed he was battling cancer.
The singer shared a video explaining that his music was reaching millions around the world and performing on the biggest stages.
However, he said that he was diagnosed with cancer in 2022, making it public for the first time.
