"I have been fighting ever since."
Jaz Dhami has publicly revealed that he is battling cancer.
The British playback singer opened up about his illness, something he was diagnosed with in 2022.
It came as he was gearing up for one of the “biggest moments” in his career.
Sharing a video on Instagram, Jaz explained that his music was reaching millions around the world and performing on the biggest stages.
He had just become a father and “life felt good”.
In the video, Jaz explained: “In February 2022, I was diagnosed with cancer.
“I have been fighting ever since.”
As the video showed glimpses of Jaz’s treatment, he continued:
“Initially I was weak, scared and uncertain of what the future would hold.
“I barely left the sofa. I lay there stuck, weak and afraid.”
Jaz highlighted his wife’s support, including what she told him:
“Jaz, you have to fight this, get up.”
Buoyed by his wife’s words, Jaz made more effort to fight his illness.
The video featured a montage of what Jaz has been doing, including exercise and plunging in ice baths.
He stated: “I’m fighting for my family. I’m fighting for my career. I’m fighting for my fans.
“I know I have a long way to go. But I am getting stronger each day.”
Addressing his fans, Jaz concluded: “With your support, I know we can fight this. Are you with me?”

In the caption, Jaz Dhami admitted that he is sharing his cancer battle for the first time, having kept it private for over two years.
It read: “In 2022, my world changed.
“For the first time, I’m sharing a battle I’ve kept private. A battle with cancer.
“I wasn’t ready to talk about it then… but I am now.”
“I fought for my family, my music, and all of you who have stood by me over the years.
“I’m stronger, I’m healthier, and I’m ready to keep going.
“Your support has always meant everything to me – now more than ever. Will you join me as I step back onto this journey?”
Jaz Dhami received a wave of support in the comments section, with singer Parmish Verma writing:
“My brother, we all with you in this. Lots of love.”
Prabh Gill said: “Wishing you good health, blessings and strength bro.”
One fan commented: “It takes a lot of courage to talk about your health, so sad that you’ve been suffering all this time but you have got to keep fighting you got this.
“Praying God gives you all the strength to win this battle.”
