"The audience will get to see something good."
The first poster of Jimmi, the much-anticipated web series by Ashfaque Nipun, has been revealed, featuring Jaya Ahsan in a thought-provoking look.
In the poster, Jaya sits with a cardboard box on her lap, with a protesting crowd at the back.
The cover of the box features an exclamation mark, hinting at the mystery and uncertainty surrounding her character.
People in the back carry slogans in Bengali like “Who are you, who am I?”, “One demand”, and “Let democracy be liberated”.
They dominate the backdrop, referencing the July uprising and strongly hinting at a politically charged narrative.
Given Ashfaque Nipun’s reputation for hard-hitting political thrillers, Jimmi is expected to carry forward his signature storytelling style.
Hoichoi Bangladesh, which will stream the series from March 28, 2025, shared the poster on its official page with the caption:
“One box can change everything forever, a revolution or destruction?”
The intriguing line raises questions about the impact of what Jaya Ahsan’s character stumbles upon in the story.
This marks the first time Jaya Ahsan has collaborated with Ashfaque Nipun and also her first time leading an OTT series in Bangladesh.
Expressing her excitement, Jaya had previously shared:
“I am hopeful that it will turn out to be a great project. The audience will get to see something good.
“Let the work be completed first, then I will reveal everything. Let there be some surprise.
“Ashfaque Nipun is a talented director, so I believe it will be something worthwhile.”
Jaya Ahsan plays a low-ranking government employee who has been stuck in the same position for a decade without a promotion.
Living in a modest household with her husband, she struggles to make ends meet.
Her life takes an unexpected turn when she finds a mysterious box full of money in her office storeroom.
What follows is a test of morality, temptation, and desperation as she grapples with the consequences of her discovery.

The series is expected to be a deep dive into human ambition and ethical dilemmas, elements that Ashfaque Nipun has previously explored.
Despite working extensively in Indian films in recent years, Jaya Ahsan clarified that she is not permanently based in India.
Addressing speculation about spending more time across the border, she said:
“I travel to Kolkata for shooting, just like anyone would go for outdoor shoots.”
“If I have work in Kolkata, I go there, and once it’s done, I return to Dhaka.
“But people seem to think I spend most of my time there.”
With Jimmi set for release on March 28, 2025, fans eagerly await to see Jaya Ahsan in a gripping new character.
