A video of two women playing Holi inside a Delhi Metro carriage has sparked controversy over their intimate way of celebrating the festival.

Stunts on the Delhi Metro for video purposes are fairly common.

However, the incident with the two women has led to social media discussion.

Footage showed the young women sitting on the floor and in white Indian attires.

As ‘Ang Laga De’ from Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela plays in the background, the women dip their hands in blue powder and apply it on each other’s faces.

But the application of the powder appears more sensual than usual.

One of the women slowly moves her hand down her friend’s neck and applies the colourful powder to her chest.

The friend then lies down in her arms and the pair rub their faces together.

While they lip-sync to the track, things get more intimate as they get very close and look into each other’s eyes, with one woman even appearing to kiss her friend on the cheek.

They continue to caress each other’s faces before lying on top of one another.

Despite the racy Holi celebration, fellow passengers do not pay the pair any attention and continue with their journey.

On social media, many expressed their disapproval of the women’s behaviour, highlighting that their actions appeared sexually charged.

One asked:

“Is it a metro station or a seduction station?”

Some likened the video to “soft porn”, with one commenting:

“Indian trains are like porn sites.”

Another criticised: “I am embarrassed just seeing this video! Imagine the people in the background.”

Calling out the frequency of stunts on the Delhi Metro, a user said:

“We need a law against this ASAP.”

However, there is doubt over the authenticity of the video as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) suggested that deepfake technology may have been used.

A statement read: “Prima facie, the authenticity of the shooting of this video inside the metro also seems doubtful as deepfake technology may have been used to create this content.”

Even though the statement was released, some netizens are convinced the video is genuine.

One person pointed out the shadows in the video.

Another shared a thread explaining that one of the women is Preeti Morya, who is known for her suggestive videos in public spaces.

The other woman has reportedly been identified as Vineeta.

Both have substantial social media followings.

Meanwhile, the DMRC condemned the footage and urged passengers to refrain from engaging in activities that could inconvenience fellow commuters.

The statement added: “DMRC is absolutely not in favour of such reels being made on its premises.”
