Nestled amidst a land of massive religious importance, Madhya Pradesh promises an enchanting experience for locals and tourists.

Madhya Pradesh’s Tourism Board encourage the local traditional and cultural values of the state by empowering local communities.

Known for its enthusiastic celebrations, Madhya Pradesh becomes an alluring destination during Holi, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in its vivid culture and warm hospitality.

Madhya Pradesh’s Bhagoriya tradition possesses immense cultural value, where an array of sacred rituals is performed by the Bhil tribe of the state during the harvest period.

Celebrating the Vibrancy of Holi in Madhya Pradesh

At Mahakal Lok, devotees gather from all corners of the nation to immerse themselves in the festive fervour amidst the divine presence of Lord Shiva’s sanctuary, where Madhya Pradesh’s inaugural Holika Dahan ceremony unfolds.

Further enhancing the enchantment, a magnificent Maha Aarti transpires at Sethani Ghat in the Narmadapuram district, where the holy waters of the Narmada River cascade, imbuing the colourful celebrations with a spiritual ambience.

Meanwhile, in Chhindwara, the Meghnad Fair unites diverse Maharashtrian communities in adorning Lord Mahadev with hues, symbolising unity and concord.

Indore Gair welcomes throngs of visitors annually on Rang Panchami at Rajwada Palace, where jubilance and vibrant colours flood the streets, accompanied by majestic water cannons.

This is a tradition that dates back to the Holkar Dynasty era.

Bullock carts laden with herbal pigments traverse the streets as revellers joyfully smear each other with gulal.

Noteworthy is the passionate observance of Holi in the Bundelkhand region, particularly at Ram Raja Darbar in Orchha, where the festival is commemorated with profound zeal and veneration.

In the city of Gwalior, music aficionados anticipate an electrifying performance by the Saregama Music Group at Shinde Ki Chhawni Mall, adding an extra dimension of entertainment to the festive ambience.
