"What is she known for? For doing soft porn right?"

Outspoken actress Kangana Ranaut was brutally trolled after she called fellow Bollywood star Urmila Matondkar a “soft porn star”.

The two actresses have been embroiled in a war of words which started after Kangana claimed that “99% of Bollywood stars consume drugs“.

Urmila criticised Kangana for talking ill about the industry.

Urmila explained that all of India is “facing the menace of drugs”. She added:

“Does she (Kangana) know Himachal is the origin of drugs? She should start from her own state.”

This prompted Kangana to make the comments. In an interview, she said:

“Even Urmila, she is a soft porn star. I know it’s very blatant. But she isn’t known for her acting for sure.

“What is she known for? For doing soft porn right? If she can get a ticket, why won’t I get a ticket?”

This led to a wave of support for Urmila and the hashtag #ShutUpKangana was trending in India.

Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha wrote: “Just felt like saying this to one of the most beautiful, elegant, evocative, expressive actresses ever. Sending you love Urmila Matondkar.”

Actress Swara Bhasker expressed her appreciation for Urmila’s acting performances in various films.

One user said: “Dear Kangana, have ever watched Ek Hasina Thi, Jungle, Rangeela or Bhoot???

“Urmila Matondkar is not only a better actor but a far more better human being than you. You are nothing but trash.”

While Urmila expressed her gratitude to all those who supported her, Kangana defended her “soft porn” comment.

She tweeted: “Liberal brigade once virtually lynched a renowned writer into silence for saying people like Sunny Leone should not be our role models, Sunny is accepted by the industry and entire India as an artist, suddenly fake feminists equating being a porn star to something derogatory.”

Questioning her comments, Urmila had said:

“Everything that you have got today  – the name, the fame and the money – is all thanks to Mumbai and the film industry.”

“Why is it that you have not spoken about these things in the last so many years and are speaking about all this only in the last few months?

“The timing seems funny. Everything seems going a bit berserk.”

She added: “You have to decide do you want to constantly play the victim card non-stop say main toh victim hun, victim hun, victim hun.”

Urmila also challenged the Queen actress to share the names of all the Bollywood stars with drug links.

“Where are the names? I would like Kangana to actually come forward and do us all a huge favour by giving out those name and call out those people.

“Let’s have it all out. I will be the first one to say thumbs up to you girl.”

Kangana was also criticised for her comments after the Shiv Sena political party entered her office space and demolished it.

She said she felt she was almost “raped”. Social media users were not happy with her and let her know how they felt.

One person said: “Yes nepotism is bad. But this woman is dangerous to feminism as well. Don’t let this lady be the face of feminism and defame it. She is just a hypocrite and opportunist, forget nationalist.”

Another said while also defending Urmila: “Shame on you Kangana you are such a disgusting lady.

“How can you say that to another girl. You want respect for yourself but what about others?”
