Deepika Padukone will reunite with Shah Rukh Khan for the highly-anticipated action-thriller Pathan.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathan is expected to showcase Shah Rukh Khan performing several high-octane stunts.
But according to the latest reports, Deepika Padukone will be following in the footsteps of her co-star and do away with a body double.
Deepika, who performed her own stunts in Chandni Chowk To China, is set to do the same in Pathan.
In Nikhil Advani’s Chandni Chowk To China starring Akshay Kumar, Deepika had to perform a few “dangerous” sequences.
Recalling her drive to perform her own stunts, Nikhil said:
“There were some scenes that we thought to be too dangerous.
“But she insisted on doing away with the body double and also the wirings.
“She’s very athletic, it runs in her family.
“Then there was Akshay Kumar to inspire her.
“Akshay had done so much on-screen action. It was a novel experience for Deepika.
“And she sailed through the action. She worked really hard to get the posture and power in the action scenes.”
Deepika Padukone previously impressed her fans with her stunts in Kochadaiyaan and XXX: Return of Xander Cage.
In an earlier interview, the Om Shanti Om actress said:
“I come from a family where sports is a given.
“Doing my own stunts on screen is a dream situation for me.”
A source close to the action-thriller film revealed: “Despite juggling multiple film shoots, Deepika doesn’t miss training for Pathan.
Combining functional training and yoga, the actress reportedly dedicates 1.5 hours of her day to training.
Meanwhile, Deepika was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport with her husband Ranveer Singh.
The couple were seen walking hand-in-hand which led to some negative comments online.
Deepika and Ranveer last shared the screen in the sports film 83.

Netizens cited the couple’s solemn behaviour, as they didn’t pose for the paparazzi, to 83’s not-so-successful performance at the box office.
Several social media users poked fun at Ranveer’s recent release and his “normal clothes”.
Ranveer, who is known for his elaborate looks, was seen leaving the airport dressed in a simple white t-shirt and ripped jeans.
One user wrote: “For once, he’s wearing normal clothes.”
Another commented: “Flop film, flop outfit.”
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is preparing for the release of Gehraiyaan, which is directed by Shakun Batra.
The film, which also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Dhairya Karwa, is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on February 11, 2022.
