Siddharth Anand & Assistant get into Fight on ‘Pathan’ set

Reportedly, things got heated on the set of Shahrukh Khan’s Pathan when a fight broke out between director Siddharth Anand and an assistant.

The matter is even said to have turned physical with both of those involved slapping each other.

A source alleged that Siddharth did not like the way the assistant was behaving and despite several warnings to keep phones away from the set, the director kept walking around with his phone.

This resulted in an argument between the two and shooting took a break in order to give Siddharth and the assistant time to cool down.

The source revealed: “Siddharth is known for having a certain temperament on the sets.

“Given that he’s the captain of the ship, he didn’t like how a particular assistant was behaving during work.

“He also wanted all phones to be kept away but the assistant didn’t pay heed to any of his requests. He followed the behaviour for some time and then confronted him.

“That led to a big argument but people thought it was just that. Shooting resumed post that break.”

Things seemed to have cooled down, however, it ended up becoming more heated when Siddharth heard that the assistant was bad-mouthing him.

The altercation turned physical and shooting was halted for the day.

“The assistant kept abusing Siddharth and bad-mouthing him to other workers on the set. This reached Siddharth and he was furious.

“He (Siddharth) went out and literally slapped the guy who in turn slapped him back.

“There was huge chaos on the sets and shooting had to be stalled for the day.”

Reportedly, shooting resumed the next day and the film’s production company, Yash Raj Films, fired the assistant.

The fight comes just days after Deepika Padukone confirmed that Shahrukh’s next film will be Pathan. She also revealed that she will be part of the film.

She had spoken about her upcoming projects: “So, I immediately started with Shakun Batra’s film, which is a relationship story that we haven’t seen in Indian cinema before.

“Then there is Pathan, an action film with Shahrukh Khan, next is Nag Ashwin’s multilingual film with Prabhas.”

John Abraham will also be part of Pathan, reportedly playing a negative role.

The film is said to be a slick and stylish revenge drama and will have some high-octane action sequences choreographed by action director Parvez Shaikh.

Pathan is Siddharth Anand’s next directorial project after his 2019 success War, which starred Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff.
