SRK set to make a Comeback in and as ‘Pathan’

Reportedly, the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is set to make a big screen comeback with the tentative title film, Pathan.

Ever since the failure of his 2018 film, Zero, Shah Rukh Khan has remained away from the silver screen.

His fans have been eagerly waiting for him to announce his next release. However, SRK has been keeping quiet about the topic.

In fact, it was previously reported that SRK will star in Rajkumar Hirani’s social comedy film, however, he did not confirm the same.

Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, a source has revealed King Khan will star in and as Pathan.

Helmed by Siddharth Anand Films and YRF, Pathan will showcase SRK as the ultimate hero in an intense action film.

“It’s a massy title which sees SRK play the most heroic character of his career. The actor has been on the hunt to do an action film for a while now and Siddharth Anand offered him exactly what he was looking for.

“The character is rooted, earthy, larger-than-life, it’s heroic, it’s stylish and has the swag to pull off the big-scale action,” said the source.

The source continued to reveal SRK’s character is fondly referred to as Pathan saying:

“Just like SRK played the titular role of Don (2006) and Raees (2017), likewise, this time around, it’s time to play a Pathan. Watch out, it’s Shah Rukh Khan in and as Pathan.”

Starring alongside SRK will be Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone. The source continued to state Deepika’s character will also delve into some action.

“It’s a meaty role, which is the primary reason for DP to sign on for the film.”

Currently, the film is at its pre-production stage. Filming for Pathan is expected to commence in November 2020.

The source further added that the film will be a part of YRF Project 50 announcement.

“Even Pathan will be a part of YRF at 50 slate and will be announced alongside Salman Khan’s Tiger 3.

“An announcement is expected to be made within the next month and a half, taking the film industry by storm.

“Aditya Chopra is the only producer who can announce a film with Salman and Shah Rukh on the same day.”

As of yet, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have not confirmed this news themselves. We wait for SRK to divulge this information.
