“If she evades answers today, then she can also be arrested.”
Actress and girlfriend of the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Rhea Chakraborty could face imprisonment in connection to Sushant’s case.
On Friday, 7 August 2020, the actress was spotted entering the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) Mumbai office for questioning in the case.
Rhea has been at the centre of Sushant’s suicide case. The actor tragically committed suicide on 14 June 2020.
Rhea Chakraborty continues to be questioned by the officials in relation to investment into properties and financial dealings concerning the investigation.
The actress will further be questioned about her financial dealings from Sushant’s bank accounts over the past year.
In fact, it was Sushant’s father, KK Singh who filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty with abetment to suicide.
In a 5-page complaint against the actress, it was reported she made Sushant change houses, change phones as well as change his personal staff and bodyguard.
Issuing a statement today during an interaction with Times Now, Sushant’s family lawyer, Vikas Singh said:
“Now that she has decided to finally come forward in the interrogation, if she answers questions properly then she probably may be allowed to go.
“If she evades answers today, then she can also be arrested.”
Singh continued to say that he does not wish to comment further on the ongoing investigation.
On 31 July 2020, a money laundering case was filed against Rhea Chakraborty by the ED.
Allegedly, the investigation was filed for “suspicious transactions” concerning Rs 15 crore (£1,531,989.00).
According to Sushant’s family, Rhea deceptively withdrew money from the late actor’s account.
Taking to Twitter, news portal ANI shared a video of Rhea Chakraborty. In the video, a teary-eyed Rhea says:
“I’ve immense faith in God and the judiciary. I believe that I’ll get justice even though a lot of horrible things are being said about me in the media.
“I refrain from commenting on the advice from my lawyer as the matter is sub judice. Satyameva Jayate. The truth shall prevail.”

Recently, Rhea requested the case to be transferred from Patna to Mumbai. Her plea was turned down by the Supreme Court.
Not only that, but Sushant’s family lawyer also revealed that Rhea accused the actor’s sister, Priyanka of molesting her.
This startling revelation certainly took everyone by surprise. It was also claimed that Rhea told Sushant to cut ties with his sister as a result of the alleged incident.
As the investigation continues, we wait to find out whether Rhea is charged in connection with Sushant’s suicide.
