"her kids were abroad, but she was happy in Pakistan."
Ayesha Khan’s death has sparked a wave of grief and controversy, prompting industry veterans to defend her children against growing public outrage.
The actress passed away in her Karachi home, but her body was discovered nearly a week later.
This delay triggered accusations that her children had abandoned her in her final days.
However, actors Aslam Sheikh and Bushra Ansari have now come forward to challenge the narrative spreading across social media.
They insist that Ayesha chose solitude, not neglect, and that her family had not turned their backs on her.
Aslam Sheikh said: “She was fiercely independent. She drove herself, managed her home alone, and never depended on anyone financially.”
Aslam revealed that Ayesha Khan’s children, though living abroad, remained in touch and supported her.
According to him, her daughter had offered to bring her to Dubai, and her son regularly sent money.
He added: “She wanted to live alone. She had her routine, her books, and her home in Gulshan Iqbal. She didn’t want to leave.”
Bushra Ansari echoed similar sentiments, saying:
“Yes, her kids were abroad, but she was happy in Pakistan. Some people simply prefer their own space.”
She recalled that Ayesha often spoke fondly of her children during their last project together.
Ayesha claimed her children transferred large amounts of money to her and respected her wishes to remain in Karachi.
Still, public opinion remains divided. Journalist Sarah Hussain’s emotional write-up, recently amplified by Farah Iqrar, paints a darker picture.
According to the article, Ayesha Khan gave her property to her children a decade ago, only to be left alone afterwards.
She allegedly confided to friends that she was emotionally abandoned and longed for calls that never came.
Her burial was just as silent, without fanfare, media presence, or public knowledge, because no one was informed.
She was laid to rest in Sakhi Hasan graveyard, next to her father. Her son requested no postmortem, citing a natural death.
Farah Iqrar stated that Ayesha Khan’s final days were lonely. She had recently suffered a fracture and increasingly withdrew from social life.
Many online users continue to question how someone could die unnoticed for a week if loved ones were truly in touch.
Whether forgotten or simply misunderstood, Ayesha Khan’s final chapter has left a lingering ache in the hearts of her fans and peers alike.
