He told his victim, aged in her 40s, that he would kill her if she didn't do what he told her.
A British Asian man faces 12 years in jail for imprisoning and raping an escort four times in his flat.
He received his jail sentence on 23rd October 2017, after a jury convicted him of his charges in August. The trial took place at Woolwich Crown Court.
Identified as 21-year-old Ahad Ali, the judge sentenced him for rape and a string of sexual and violent charges. The jury found him guilty of four counts of rape, one of false imprisonment, one of threats to kill and one of sexual assault by penetration.
The incident occurred at his seventh-floor flat in Stepney, east London on 13th February.
Ahad Ali had booked the woman, who worked as a female escort, to arrive at his home. However, upon her arrival, he forced her inside the flat. The 21-year-old proceeded to push her into his bedroom and locked the door, imprisoning his victim.
He then held a knife to her throat as he raped her four times. During the ordeal, he told his victim, aged in her 40s, that he would kill her if she didn’t do what he told her.
At one point, the victim gained access to a mobile phone while Ahad Ali left the bedroom. She attempted to call a taxi driver and screamed for help. However, the 21-year-old caught her and grabbed the phone away.
Despite this, the taxi driver called the police who quickly arrived at the flat and entered inside via forced entry. Ahad Ali made an attempt to escape police by jumping out of his seventh-floor window. However, the fall led to a fractured arm and leg.
The 21-year-old spent 10 days recovering in a hospital. Afterwards, police arrested and charged him.
DC Stav Georgiou-Moran, who acted as Investigation Lead, said: “Ahad Ali is a predatory individual who targeted a vulnerable female. This was a premeditated, violent attack that involved the use of a large knife to threaten the victim.
“I would like to praise the courage and bravery of the victim in giving evidence against the defendant. Anyone who has been the victim of sexual violence is advised to tell someone they trust or inform the police.”
During the investigation, Ahad Ali even attempted to lie in a police interview. He claimed that his victim had made up the allegations. However, officers had “built up a strong case” after they took statements from his victim and the taxi driver.
They also analysed the mobile phone the woman used during the incident. He will now spend 12 years in jail for his crime.
