Balam made a powerful return to the stage with Warfaze in Toronto, reuniting with his old bandmates during the band’s 40th anniversary world tour.

The concert came as part of a major global celebration marking four decades of Warfaze, one of Bangladesh’s most influential rock outfits.

The group had already revealed plans for performances across Bangladesh, alongside shows in the United States, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, and India.

In earlier announcements, frontman Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu hinted that some concerts might include appearances from former members of the band.

Toronto fans were thrilled when those words proved true, as Balam, the former vocalist and guitarist, joined the lineup after nearly two decades away.

Sharing photos from the performance, Balam expressed heartfelt gratitude to both the organisers and the audience for making the moment possible.

“I feel honoured and delighted to be part of Warfaze’s 40th anniversary concert in Toronto.

“My greetings to the audience, and special thanks to those who made this event possible.”

He described the night as especially emotional, admitting that although he has performed solo many times in Canada, stepping onstage with Warfaze again carried unmatched significance.

“After such a long time, performing with them again on the same stage was an incredible feeling.”

Balam’s history with the band stretches back to 1999, when he first became an official member of the group.

Even before his professional role, Balam’s roots with Warfaze were strong.

He is a relative of the founding member of the band, Babna Karim.

As a child, he often attended rehearsals, gradually becoming part of the band’s extended family and absorbing their musical journey from the sidelines.

That long connection resurfaced in Toronto, where Babna himself also joined the anniversary performance alongside past and present members.

Reflecting on the event, he said that while concerts in Toronto happen often, this occasion was extraordinary because it marked four decades of Warfaze.

Sharing the same stage with Warfaze members made it even more special for him personally. He said:

“This one was special – celebrating 40 years of Warfaze.”

Frontman Tipu emphasised that the global anniversary tour is not just a series of concerts but also a statement of longevity.

For loyal followers of Bangladeshi rock music, the reunion offered more than nostalgia, reminding them of the enduring influence of Warfaze.

The Toronto concert proved that even after decades, the bond between Warfaze and its audience remains unbroken.
