"Why did it not materialise?"
Ananya Panday recently made an appearance at Karan Johar’s infamous talk show, Koffee With Karan, with her Liger co-star Vijay Deverakonda.
In the said episode, Ananya revealed that she had a crush on none other than her close friend, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s firstborn, Aryan Khan.
During the show, Karan asked Ananya about growing up in the “corridors of Mannat” alongside best friends Suhana Khan and Shanaya Kapoor.
The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil filmmaker also asked if she had a crush on Aryan Khan.
Ananya said: “Yeah, he is cute. I had a crush on Aryan.”
When Karan asked her, “Why did it not materialise?” Ananya quipped, “Ask him [Aryan Khan].”
The actor was also asked if their “friendship will survive” given that both Shanaya Kapoor and Suhana Khan will soon make their Bollywood debuts.
To this, Ananya replied: “Yes. Because it’s not even friendship anymore. I think it’s family. It’s always been family.”
She went on to add: “I would like to believe that it wouldn’t affect our friendship. I think, we all just have a lot of genuine love for each other.
“Whenever I talk about it, I say it was a collective dream growing up. We all wanted to be actors. We’ve had so many discussions, and we have played so many acting games.
“So I think I’ll be as happy for Shanaya and Suhana’s success as I am for my own. It honestly feels like that.”
In other news, Janhvi Kapoor recently spoke about being compared to her ‘contemporaries’ Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday.
Unlike Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday joined the film industry a year later.
She began her acting career in 2019 with the film Student of the Year 2.
Janhvi Kapoor opened up about her equation with Sara and Ananya Panday in a recent interview and said she was ‘really fond’ of them, and wanted them to do ‘really well’.
Despite being pitted against each other because of their similar age group and box office performance, thus far, Janhvi said the three of them could ‘co-exist and thrive’, as they felt ‘secure enough’.
Speaking about Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor told Pinkvilla: “I actually really like them, and I want them to do really well. I think they would want the same for me.
“We are secure enough to know that we can all co-exist and thrive.”
Janhvi Kapoor added: “I am actually really fond of these girls (Ananya Panday and Sara Ali Khan). I think that I have a lot of respect for what they do, and how they carry themselves.
“I enjoy their company a lot. We have seen each other for so long. I have seen Ananya, she has been Shanaya’s best friend forever so I have always seen her around…”
