Ananya Panday reveals if Celebs were Paid for Ambani Wedding

Ananya Panday has responded to the persistent claims that Bollywood stars were paid to attend Anant Ambani’s wedding.

After lots of pre-wedding celebrations, Anant and Radhika Merchant tied the knot in a three-day event in July 2024.

While attention was on the ceremony, the attendees grabbed the most headlines.

From Kim Kardashian to Shah Rukh Khan, over 1,000 VIPs were in Mumbai for the wedding.

As pictures circulated on social media, some netizens wondered why some stars were there.

It led to claims that celebrities were paid to attend the wedding.

Ananya Panday was one of the guests and she has now addressed the rumours.

Hitting out at the claims, Ananya insisted that she attended the wedding because Anant and Radhika are her friends.

She said: “They are my friends. I don’t understand why people think like this.

“Obviously, I’ll dance wholeheartedly at my friends’ wedding. I love celebrating love.”

Ananya spoke fondly about the strong connection she saw between Anant and Radhika, describing their relationship as “pure love”.

The actress continued: “One big takeaway from the wedding was that so much was happening, but whenever Anant and Radhika would look at each other, it was just pure love.

“It felt like violins were playing behind them.

“That’s something I want in life — that no matter how much chaos is around, you and that person share that connection.”

She also shared how the Ambani family made sure that every guest felt welcome.

Ananya added: “They made everyone feel welcome.

“No matter how many functions were there, they greeted everyone with so much love and warmth.

“That’s such a beautiful quality because it makes everything feel very personal.”

On the work front, Ananya Panday is currently enjoying the success of her first web series Call Me Bae.

She highlighted that it is a mixture of characters that have been seen onscreen and around her.

Ananya said: “She is a very perky character but I had to find humanity in her.

“I couldn’t judge her, she talks to her bags but I had to find the reason behind it.”

According to reports, the show has been renewed for a second season.

“Ever since its release it has been growing in popularity with every passing day.
