Sanjay Dutt sentenced to 5 years in Jail

One of India’s longest legal battles has come to a close with the sentencing of Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt, to return to imprisonment for five years.
The verdict was for his involvement with weapons in connection with a series of bombings in Mumbai in 1993. The Supreme Court of India wants the actor back in jail to serve his sentence.

FIR against Honey Singh for Porn Lyrics

Honey Singh, the popular Indian rapper and singer has been singled out for his music and lyrics associated with songs which are pornographic and demeaning to women. He has had a formal FIR filed against him for obscenity and also had a gig cancelled in New Delhi by protests on an online petition.

India’s Daughter needs Real Justice

After a horrific ordeal of being gang raped on a bus, the 23-year old Indian medical student lost her battle to survive and passed away. The case has brought huge unrest to a nation that seeks real justice for this crime and many more like it. Called ‘India’s Daughter’ the young woman has raised many questions for the Indian Government and others to answer regarding the safety and protection of women in India.
