A fraud case has been filed in a Dhaka court after Atif Aslam’s concert cancellation sparked legal action.

The complaint targeted organisers, including a co-founder of Main Stage Inc, over alleged deception and refund failures.

Barrister Ahsan Habib Bhuiyan submitted the case on December 15, 2025, before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain.

The court ordered the Detective Branch to investigate the matter and submit findings within fifteen working days.

According to the petition, Main Stage Inc. announced on November 16, 2025, that Atif Aslam had agreed to perform.

At the time of ticket sales, organisers did not disclose a venue, raising early questions among buyers.

The venue was later announced as the Chinese Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal, New Town.

Fans purchased tickets expecting a confirmed show while promotional posts continued circulating across social media platforms.

On December 12, organisers announced the concert postponement, citing failure to secure necessary government approvals.

The sudden announcement left ticket holders frustrated as no immediate refund mechanism or apology was communicated publicly.

Bhuiyan sent a legal notice, granting organisers 48 hours to clarify refunds and issue an apology.

He later stated that organisers neither responded to the notice nor engaged constructively with concerned ticket buyers.

The complaint further alleged that Bhuiyan was blocked on Facebook after raising questions about accountability.

Atif Aslam confirmed the cancellation the same day, blaming the organisers’ inability to obtain permits and security clearances.

He also cited unresolved event management arrangements required under local regulations governing large public gatherings.

Public reaction online grew increasingly critical, questioning how tickets were sold without confirmed official permissions.

Some users warned that angry buyers could mobilise protests reflecting growing mistrust toward concert organisers.

Main Stage Inc. later issued a statement attributing the postponement to election schedules and heightened security conditions.

The organisers assured ticket holders that refunds would be processed, although delays could occur due to logistical reasons.

Despite assurances, many buyers remained sceptical, citing a lack of transparency and poor communication throughout the episode.

Miles band member Hamin Ahmed also accused the organisers of these last-minute concert cancellations, saying:

“Get all the approved permits first, then promote the concert and sell tickets, simple!

“Stop lying, making foolish excuses, and causing trouble for music lovers!

“You’re ruining the concert environment.”

The legal case has intensified scrutiny on organisers involved in international music events within Dhaka.
