"What a humble artist he is!"
Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has resumed performing in Dhaka through private events following the abrupt cancellation of his scheduled concert.
The artist appeared at the American International University Bangladesh on December 18, 2025, for an exclusive performance.
Only current students, former students, and university staff members were permitted to attend the closed-campus concert.
The performance took place at 2 p.m. inside university premises, maintaining a controlled and limited audience environment.
Bangladeshi singers Minar Rahman and Pritom Hasan also performed alongside Atif Aslam during the university event.
Minar Rahman later shared details of his interaction with Atif Aslam through a post on social media.
Minar wrote: “He said that he was listening to my performance and told me to keep playing, singing and doing music.”
The Bangladeshi singer expressed surprise at receiving encouragement from an artist he has long admired professionally.
Minar added while sharing a photograph from the venue:
“What a humble artist he is!! Love and Respect.”
The university performance followed a series of private appearances by Atif Aslam.
On December 15, 2025, Atif performed at a private club event titled ‘The Final Note: Atif Aslam’.
Videos and photographs from the club performance circulated widely across social media platforms shortly afterwards.
Reports also indicated that the singer performed at another private show in Dhaka on December 17, 2025.
These private performances came days after the cancellation of Atif Aslam’s highly anticipated concert.
The cancelled show was scheduled for December 13, 2025, at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal.
The concert was organised by a company named Main Stage Inc, with Spirits of July listed as co-organiser.
The event was titled ‘X Force Presents Atif Aslam at the Mainstage Show’.
However, the organisers failed to obtain the required government permissions and security clearances before the event date.
As a result, the concert was called off at the last minute, disappointing thousands of ticket holders.
Atif Aslam confirmed the cancellation through a post on his official Facebook page.
The post cited lack of local permits, security approval, and logistical authorisations as reasons for cancellation.
Following the controversy, legal action was initiated regarding the unauthorised promotion of large-scale commercial events.
A Public Interest Litigation was filed before the High Court addressing event promotions without mandatory legal clearance.
The petition seeks stricter regulation to prevent similar incidents involving international performers in the future.
Despite the setback, Atif Aslam’s continued presence through private performances has drawn attention across Dhaka.
