"All tickets for the original show dates will be honoured"
Zayn has rescheduled his tour dates “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
The former One Direction star was meant to be kicking off his Stairway to the Sky tour later in November 2024.
The Edinburgh dates would have been the first shows of the UK tour but they have now been moved to December so the tour will officially begin in Leeds on November 23.
Sharing a poster of the new dates via his tour management’s socials, an accompanying statement read:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Zayn’s Stairway to the Sky Edinburgh show originally scheduled for the 20th of November has been rescheduled to the 8th of December.
“And the Edinburgh show originally scheduled for the 21st of November has been rescheduled for the 9th of December.
“All tickets for the original show dates will be honoured on the rescheduled dates.”
Despite fans being disappointed over the announcement, many voiced their concerns for Zayn’s well-being and sent him supportive messages telling him to “prioritise his mental health”, assuming the delay was related to him still grieving the loss of Liam Payne.
One wrote: “We love you @zaynmalik Take all the time you need, we’ll be here supporting you regardless.”
Another commented: “@zaynmalik I’m so proud of you for deciding to prioritise your mental health.
“Please don’t worry about us. We’ll wait as long as you need. Take as much time as you want.
“We know how you’re feeling, you’re not alone. We grieve together. We love you Zayn.”
Zayn previously postponed the US leg of his solo tour, which would have begun on October 23. They will now take place in January 2025.
Former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne tragically died aged just 31 in October 2024.
He died after falling from his third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Three people have since been charged in connection with Liam’s death.
Speaking about Liam’s death, Zayn previously said in a statement:
“Liam, I have found myself talking out loud to you, hoping you can hear me, I can’t help but think selfishly that there was so many more conversations for us to have in our lives.
“I never got to thank you for supporting me through some of the most difficult times in my life.
“When I was missing home as a 17 yr old kid you would always be there with a positive outlook and reassuring smile and let me know you were my friend and that I was loved.”
