He began his career at the young age of 14. Beginning with the Carnatic violin, he progressed to the guitar.

In the 1990s, Baiju played in a band named Instinct.

From 1999 to 2010, he was the lead guitarist for the band Motherjane.

After departing the band, Baiju moved on to a solo career, releasing successful albums including The Crossover.

He has named Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Steve Vai as his favourite guitarists.

Amyt Datta

He toured with the band from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s.

In 2011, he appeared in the Bengali film Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona.
