The nature of the video has raised serious concerns
Pakistani TikTok sensation Imsha Rehman has deactivated her social media accounts after becoming embroiled in a scandal.
Following the recent scandal involving TikToker Minahil Malik, a private video purportedly of Imsha Rehman began to circulate.
The leak led to Imsha receiving cruel comments.
In response to the backlash, Imsha deactivated her Instagram and TikTok accounts.
Before the deactivation, Imsha called the backlash “overwhelming”.
The leaked video, which appears to show Imsha performing a sex act on an unidentified male, has gone viral.
It is being shared in WhatsApp groups, Discord servers, Reddit subs and Telegram channels.
The nature of the video has raised serious concerns among social media users about the alarming trend of privacy violations.
The impact of such leaks on individuals’ lives has stirred an online debate.
As the video continues to spread, public reaction centred on the need for empathy and compassion in addressing these sensitive issues.
Many users have called for the removal of the leaked content and emphasised the importance of treating victims with dignity.
They highlight how instead of support for the violations against victims, they are subjected to further ridicule or harassment.
This sentiment echoes previous incidents, such as that involving Dr Aamir Liaquat, whose life was tragically affected by similar circumstances.
Imsha Rehman’s situation is particularly concerning as it follows closely on the heels of Minahil Malik’s leaked videos.
It has highlighted a troubling pattern among social media influencers in Pakistan.
Both cases have drawn attention to the vulnerabilities faced by individuals in the public eye, raising questions about privacy and ethical responsibilities.
The sets of clips quickly found their way onto various pornographic websites.
In response to the growing issue of leaked videos and online harassment, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is intensifying its efforts.
It continues to regulate offensive content on digital platforms.
PTA is actively monitoring and blocking websites that host pornographic material.
A spokesperson noted that Pakistan is among the top countries for attempts to access such content.
The spokesperson said:
“Nearly 20 million attempts to access pornographic websites are blocked daily at the international gateway.”
While the PTA has taken steps to block over 844,000 pornographic websites, the challenge remains significant.
Many users continue to resort to Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to bypass these restrictions.
The government conducted a six-hour test on November 10, 2024, blocking access to over two dozen VPNs across Pakistan.
