Pori Moni is all set to make her mark in the Telugu industry with the much-anticipated mystery-thriller Felubakshi.
The film will mark her Tollywood debut, something fans have eagerly awaited since March 2024.
After months of anticipation, the release date has been announced.
Felubakshi is slated for a theatrical release on January 17, 2025.
Directed by Debraj Sinha, Felubakshi is a gripping thriller that brings Pori Moni into the role of Labonya.
Her character is reported to be central to the film’s mystery.
She stars alongside renowned Kolkata stars Soham Chakraborty and Madhumita Sarcar.
While the film shares a name reminiscent of the iconic detective Feluda, the story diverges from the classic Feluda series.
It offers a fresh narrative style and its own unique approach to the genre.
In a character reveal for Labonya, Pori Moni is dressed in a black T-shirt, jeans, and a red cardigan layered on top.
With her hair tied back and oversized sunglasses, she delivered a look of strength and attitude.
Reflecting on her role, Pori Moni shared her excitement and confidence:
“When I read the script I liked the character Labonya very much. I felt like I could bring out the role properly. That is why I’m doing the character.
“How well I have succeeded or am I able to do it, the audience will tell after the release on 17 January.”
The actress also revealed her long-standing desire to work in Tollywood, noting the unique, nuanced approach to filmmaking that she admires.
She continued: “I have always harboured a desire to work in Kolkata films.
“I believe their work is exceptionally nuanced, and the journey of filming is immensely fulfilling.”
Meanwhile, Soham Chakraborty, one of the film’s leads, plays a character deeply engaged with global discoveries and mysteries.
Director Debraj Sinha highlighted that Pori Moni’s character lies at the heart of the story’s unfolding mystery, making her role all the more pivotal.
In addition to Felubakshi, Pori Moni has been busy with other projects.
Her first web series, Rongila Kitab, directed by Anam Biswas, was released on November 8, 2024, on the OTT platform Hoichoi.
In the series, she plays Supti, earning praise for her performance and further cementing her versatility as an actress.
With Felubakshi generating significant buzz and her Tollywood debut drawing nearer, it’s clear that Pori Moni’s career continues to rise.
