The highly anticipated political thriller web series Rongila Kitab, starring Pori Moni and Mostafizur Noor Imran, has got a new release date.
Directed by Anam Biswas, the series is adapted from Kingkor Ahsan’s novel of the same name and promises to deliver a gripping narrative.
The story follows Pradeep, a small-town goon from Braishal who plans to leave his criminal past behind after learning he is going to be a father.
However, his life takes a dark turn when he is wrongfully convicted of the murder of a local MP just a day later.
The series is expected to unfold the intense events that follow Pradeep’s conviction, immersing viewers in a tale of suspense and intrigue.
Rongila Kitab also marks Pori Moni’s return to the screen and her debut in a web series.
She plays Supti, a role she has described as deeply impactful.
Originally slated for release on August 8, 2024, the premiere was postponed.
This was due to the political unrest and complications in Bangladesh following Sheikh Hasina’s resignation as Prime Minister.
The show will now premiere on November 8, 2024, on Hoichoi.
Reflecting on her experience with the project, Pori Moni expressed her excitement:
“It’s a new chapter in my career, and I loved working with such a supportive team. Now, I can’t wait to hear the audience’s feedback.”
She previously talked about the emotional weight of her character in the show:
“Even after returning home, Supti reminds me of her pain, suffering, shame, and tears inside her chest. Supti has become my favourite character.
“I hope that when Rongila Kitab is released, I will get everyone’s love.”
Mostafizur Noor Imran, who is also returning to the screen after a hiatus, shared his enthusiasm for the project:
“We’ve all given our best and are eagerly awaiting the release.”
Anam Biswas highlighted the series’ focus on human relationships, aiming to resonate with audiences beyond mere entertainment.
He believes Rongila Kitab carries a meaningful message that viewers will connect with.
Filmed in the scenic district of Rangamati, the series is poised to captivate audiences when it becomes available on Hoichoi.
