"Have you missed our eternal beauty?"
Ahead of the Ponniyin Selvan 2 release, the makers revealed Trisha Krishnan’s multiple looks as Princess Kundavai from the film with a special video.
During the promotions of the first instalment, Trisha revealed that both she and the team members, including stylist Eka Lakhani tried around 50 looks for the character Kundavai.
Later, director Mani Ratnam personally choose around 10 looks from them, which eventually made it into the film.

In the video, Trisha Krishnan is seen in Princess Kundavai’s signature top bun and side braid hairdos, different colours of traditional silk outfits, and antique temple jewellery ornaments.
The actor looks ethereal as Chola Dynasty’s most intelligent princess, who played a great role in her younger brother Arunmozhi Varman aka Rajaraja Chola’s immense growth as a powerful emperor.
Towards the end of the Kundavai special video, the makers of Ponniyin Selvan 2 have also confirmed that the first single of the project, which is composed by AR Rahman.
The single is gearing up for its grand release very soon.
Meanwhile, some unconfirmed reports suggest that the first single of Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus is the romantic melody Devi which will depict the poetic romance of Princess Kundavai, and Vanthiyathevan, the character played by Karthi.

The film fanatics are now eagerly waiting to watch the magical chemistry of the much-loved onscreen pair, once again on the silver screen.
Ponniyin Selvan 2, the highly anticipated second instalment of veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam, is now gearing up for release.
The first part of the project, which is based on legendary writer Kalki Krishnamurthy’s novel of the same name, hit the theatres in September 2022.
With a total box office receipt of Rs. 500 crores, Ponniyin Selvan became the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2022 as well as the fifth highest-grossing Tamil film of all time.
The makers are getting ready to kickstart the promotions for the second part and have been sharing updates of the same on social media.
The second part is set to release in theatres all over the world on April 28, 2023.
The film will be released in five regional languages – Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Meanwhile, the makers released a behind-the-scenes video on March 1, 2023.
In the video, actors Karthi, Jayram, and Jayam Ravi are seen summarising the events of PS1 and discussing the plot details of its upcoming sequel, PS2.
