Akshita Tiwari made fun of herself and her co-stars in a behind-the-scenes video from her soap Neerja – Ek Nayi Pehchaan.
The clip featured how certain scenes were filmed as well as dramatic moments that Indian TV soaps have become known for.
Akshita, who is also a YouTuber, described her day as she walked viewers through different sequences during the shoot.
She said in Hindi: “I sometimes have to jump off buildings, and other times hang from buildings.
“Hi, I am Akshita, I do acting for a very small amount of money and fool the audiences.”
One scene featured Akshita kicking off her co-star who had been strangling her.
She made fun of the way the scene was filmed as it was shot partially behind a plant.
The scene also showed Akshita escaping her attacker, only to hide from him on a terrace near a swing.
Likening the scene to an “MMS clip”, Akshita said:
“The scene has been recorded like it is not a TV show but my MMS clip… and here I am, trying to hide on a terrace in the wide open, near a swing.”
When her co-star finds her, Akshita slowly turns to see him and hysterically screams as she tries to get away.
But when she runs, her co-star grabs her ankle and she falls.
Describing the scene, Akshita jokingly says:
“Now, this is where our WWE starts.”
Another moment shows her co-star throwing her to the ground.
Akshita then roasted herself over a particularly dramatic moment.
The scene depicted her being so traumatised that it caused her to fall off the building.
Filming involved Akshita Tiwari doing a “cartwheel-style” fall over the ledge and onto a safety mattress.
She joked that her fall was bad but mocked her co-stars’ reaction, showing them in utter disbelief.
Meanwhile, because her part was completed, Akshita was seen lying on the mattress laughing.
She said: “Please deduct Rs. 50 from my fees for this scene. But my co-stars should be fined Rs. 100 for their overacting.
“Out of all three of us, the plants on set did better acting.”
The video garnered over one million views and netizens took to the comments section.
