"It's absolute confusion!"
Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) have been a hugely popular couple in BBC’s EastEnders.
The pair has been through numerous challenges, including Suki’s struggle to accept her feelings for Eve and the torment by Suki’s ex-husband, Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry).
In August 2024, Suki and Eve finally got engaged.
As she proposed to her partner, Suki said: “Eve Unwin, I love you, and I’d walk through fire for you.
“And if I were to live my life again, I’d find you sooner.
“So, will you do me the greatest honour of my life and be my wife?”
However, Eve remains unaware of Suki’s role in ‘The Six’ storyline, which saw her cover up the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).
Recent episodes of EastEnders showed Eve away from the Square. In her absence, Nish discovered the truth about Keanu’s death.
He used this knowledge to blackmail Suki to get back together with him.
In return, Nish agreed to take the blame for the killing that was actually committed by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).
Nish and Suki had a blessing ceremony to honour their new relationship.
But this was short-lived, as Nish finally left Walford after falsely confessing to Keanu’s murder.
This was after his granddaughter Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) convinced him to let Suki go.
Upcoming scenes in EastEnders will see Eve return, and she will be devastated when she discovers Nish and Suki’s blessing.
Could this lead to Suki and Eve drifting apart even after Nish’s exit, and will Eve finally find out about Suki’s role in the murder cover-up?
Divulging the upcoming story, Heather Peace explained: “Eve reads the room straight away.
“She says, ‘Let’s address the elephant in the room’, thinking this atmosphere is based on the version of events that Suki told her about Nish killing Keanu at Christmas.
“She even says, ‘Suki has told me about everything that’s gone on with Nish, and let’s put it all to bed’.
“That’s when Avani reveals that Suki and Nish had a blessing.”
“It’s absolute confusion! Eve doesn’t understand the motivation behind it, so at this point, she is reeling and just wants to clear the room to find out what the hell is going on and what’s happened. It comes out of the blue.
“What we have to remember is that Eve has been here before, where she and Suki were together, and then she went back to Nish.
“When they were having an affair, Suki was still sleeping with Nish, so Eve has dealt with this before.
“The jealousy she feels is based on what Eve has already been through with Suki.
“She had to live with the heartbreak of knowing her soulmate, the woman she is completely in love with was sharing a bed with Nish.”
