Veteran Bollywood actress Soni Razdan shares her support for actress Rhea Chakraborty who was accused of abetment to suicide in Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case.

Sushant Singh Rajput tragically lost his life on June 14, 2020, after he reportedly killed himself at his residence in Bandra.

The news of his untimely death sent shockwaves across India and the world.

Shortly after Sushant’s death, his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was accused of the unlawful act by the late star’s family.

This led to a high-profile investigation into the actor’s shocking death. The case was investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate and Narcotics Control Bureau.

This led to Rhea’s arrest on September 8, 2020, for her role in procuring drugs.

Alongside Rhea, many other Bollywood stars were questioned for their role in procuring drugs. These include Sara Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet Singh and more.

After almost a month later, the actress was granted bail.

Now, Soni Razdan has said that she believes Rhea Chakraborty will be given the chance to revive her acting career.

In fact, Soni Razdan expressed continuous support for Rhea during the investigation and media trial.

Soni Razdan’s recent display of support comes after jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali condemned a known media figure for “destroying” Rhea’s reputation.

In response, Shunali Khullar Shroff voiced her concern for Rhea’s Bollywood career. She tweeted:

“She went to jail and has possibly lost any chance at a career in Bollywood.”

Reacting to Shroff’s tweet, Soni Razdan declared that Rhea was an innocent victim in the death case. She wrote:

“She going to to jail has clearly exposed only the people who sent her there and shown that she was an innocent victim of a very twisted design.”

She continued to question why people would not want to work with her. She said:

“Why won’t anyone work with her? I think she will do very well. I hope so anyway.”

Meanwhile, director Rumi Jaffrey confirmed the 28-year-old actress will be returning to the big screen during the first half of 2021.

According to a conversation with Spotboye, Rumi Jaffrey added that he met up with Rhea Chakraborty. He said:

“I met her recently. She was withdrawn and quiet. Didn’t speak much. Can’t blame her after what she was gone through.

“Let the heat and dust settle down. I’m sure Rhea will have a lot to say.”
