“Yes, Khushi is also keen on acting."
The late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter, Khushi Kapoor is set to take her first steps in Bollywood.
The young starlet, who is already well-known and popular on social media, will be making her Bollywood debut.
Khushi Kapoor enjoys a large fan following online as she regularly shares stunning pictures of herself.
According to Bombay Times, Khushi will be following in the footsteps of her late mother, actress Sridevi, sister Janhvi Kapoor and half-brother Arjun Kapoor.
When asked about Khushi’s Bollywood debut, Boney Kapoor revealed his daughter has her eye set on acting. He said:
“Yes, Khushi is also keen on acting. You will hear an announcement soon.”
Despite Boney Kapoor being a renowned producer, he will not be launching his daughter’s acting career.
This comes as no surprise as Janhvi and Arjun Kapoor were not launched by their father’s production house.
Janhvi made her acting debut in Shashank Khaitan’s 2018 romantic film, Dhadak.
While Arjun Kapoor made his acting debut in 2012 with Ishaqzaade after working as an assistant director on films such as Kal Ho Na Ho (2003) and Wanted (2009).
Speaking about why he will not launch Khushi, Boney explained:
“I have the resources but I would rather have someone else launch her because I am her father and one tends to get indulgent.
“You can’t afford to do that as a filmmaker and nor is it good for the actor. Anil was an established actor, so it didn’t affect him much.
“But I think I became an indulgent brother with Sanjay when he made his entry into films.”
Boney Kapoor launched his younger brother Sanjay Kapoor in 1995 with the film Prem in which he starred opposite Tabu.
Admitting that this was not the right move for Sanjay’s career, he said: “I think it may have gone against him.”
Despite this, Boney continued to praise his brother for the work he is doing on OTT platforms. He said:
“I am glad he is doing some amazing work in the OTT space now.
“He’s playing interesting characters that he truly deserves to portray and can do justice to. Likewise, I would want Khushi to find her own footing.
“She will be launched by someone I respect and someone I feel secure and safe about.”
