"I also heard about the brilliant cast."
Sarah Khan will be back on television with her new drama serial Namak Haram.
The drama is set to start on November 3, 2023, on Hum TV and will see Sarah and Imran Ashraf in the lead roles.
It has been directed by Shaqielle Khan, produced by Momina Duraid and written by Saqlain Abbas.
Sarah revealed she chose to accept the script because she was intrigued by the title.
She said: “The story is also very different, which you will enjoy. I can’t reveal too much about the story right now.
“I was curious to know about the one who was the real negative character as per the title, and then I also heard about the brilliant cast.
“This includes Imran Ashraf and Babar Ali, so after hearing about the story and cast I instantly decided to go for it.”
Sarah is set to play Asma. She elaborated:
“Asma is a balanced personality, she keeps the world and religion together. She is not perfect but she tries to practice Islam as much as she can.
“She wants to learn the Quranic translation and tries to cover her head with a dupatta.”
Sarah also said she was excited about working with Imran again after their successful pairing in the hit drama Raqs-e-Bismil.
In April 2023, both Sarah and Imran excited their fans when they hinted that they may be working on a drama again soon.
Imran had tagged Sarah in an Instagram post asking her if she would like to work with him again, to which Sarah replied that Moosa and Zohra (their characters in Raqs-e-Bismil) should reunite.
The interaction sent fans into a frenzy and many came forward to request that the pair work together again.
One fan wrote:
“I can’t wait to see you both on-screen again.”
Another added: “OMG, I cannot wait!”
Raqs-e-Bismil was one of the most popular drama series in 2020 and it was the first time that Imran and Sarah had worked together on a project.
They are both talented in their rights and have many times proven their versatility as actors in the showbiz industry.
Sarah Khan wowed audiences as Miraal in the drama serial Sabaat, playing an egotistic and controlling character who attempts to take charge of her brother’s life after he falls in love with a girl from a different social class.
The drama starred Mawra Hocane, Laila Zuberi, Ameer Gilani, Seemi Raheel and Syed Mohammad Ahmed.
