"there’s no reason to say something regressive."

During a podcast, Reham Khan expressed disapproval over Sarah Khan’s anti-feminist remarks.

The comments by Sarah Khan during an interview went viral in May 2025.

Sarah had said she doesn’t consider herself a “big feminist” and identified more with traditional values, adding that she preferred men to take responsibility so women can live in peace.

Sarah openly shared that she enjoys staying home and dislikes paying bills or standing in queues.

While her comments may reflect personal comfort, they have sparked backlash from both feminists and netizens.

Reham argued that Sarah’s public success is a direct result of the feminist movement she now claims to reject.

She stated: “There’s an actress I know only because her husband keeps gifting her things.

“That actress has forgotten she’s able to work freely today because of the women’s rights movement.

“Even if you don’t believe in feminism, there’s no reason to say something regressive. People in positions of privilege should speak up for those who are not.”

Reham emphasised that Sarah, as a mother, should think carefully about the message such views send to the next generation, particularly her daughter.

She noted that many women, even those with platforms and privileges, internalise generational oppression, which later shapes regressive views.

The journalist urged celebrities to recognise the progress they benefit from.

According to Reham Khan, public figures have a responsibility to avoid undermining movements that have enabled their visibility and freedom.

She added that dismissing feminism while enjoying its fruits is both contradictory and harmful.

Sarah Khan has previously faced criticism for making controversial statements about her marriage as well.

In one post, she called her husband, singer Falak Shabbir, her “sugar daddy” as a birthday tribute.

In another, she expressed her desire to have a large family of eight children.

These comments, paired with her recent anti-feminist remarks, have led to a growing number of online critiques.

One user wrote:

“Sarah Khan should have been born in an age when women were just baby-making machines.”

Others mocked her regressive stance, with many pointing out that her life of choice was only made possible through modern feminist advocacy.

Though Sarah Khan has not publicly responded to the backlash, discussions around her statements continue to trend online.

Many fans feel that her opinions contrast sharply with the era of empowerment and equality that women have fought hard to achieve.
