Manish Shah has called Kartik Aaryan “extremely unprofessional” after the actor threatened to walk out of his upcoming film ‘Shehzada’.

Kartik Aaryan reacts to Bollywood Harassment Rumours

“Why would I do this for a Bollywood hero?"

Producer Manish Shah has revealed that Kartik Aaryan threatened to walk out of Shehzada if Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s Hindi version was released in cinemas.

Manish, who has the rights to Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo‘s Hindi version, called the Bollywood actor “extremely unprofessional”.

The film was supposed to release in cinemas but it was recently cancelled.

Shehzada, which features Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, is the Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

In a recent interview, Manish Shah said:

“The makers of Shehzada were not keen to release the Hindi version in cinemas.

“Also, Kartik Aaryan said if the movie was released in theatres, he would walk out of the film, which would have caused Shehzada producers a loss of Rs. 40 crores.

“It was extremely unprofessional of him.”

Manish added: “I have known Shehzada producers for 10 years. I cannot have people who are close to me losing Rs. 40 crores, so I dropped it.

“By doing this, I ended up losing Rs. 20 crores. I spent Rs. 2 crores only on dubbing.

“I wanted this film to be bigger than Pushpa: The Rise.

“If I do not release the film I lose money, so now I am releasing it on my channel.

“I would not have done anything for Kartik Aaryan, I only did this because of Allu Arvind.

“Why would I do this for a Bollywood hero? I don’t know him.”

Goldmines Telefilms released a statement that read:

“Manish Shah, promoter of Goldmines along with the makers of Shehzada have jointly decided to withdraw the theatrical release of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Hindi version.

Shehzada makers are thankful to Manish Shah for agreeing to the same.”

Shehzada is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Allu Arvind, S Radha Krishna and Aman Gill.

Allu Aravind also produced the original Allu Arjun film alongside S Radha Krishna.

Shehzada is scheduled to hit cinemas on November 4, 2022, and is described as an action-packed family musical film.

Earlier, Kartik spoke about his thriving line-up of films.

He said: “I feel grateful looking at the way 2021 ended in terms of work and with all different films lined up next, I am very excited for 2022.”

The actor, when speaking about his role in Dhamaka, also revealed that his fans should expect to see him in more challenging roles.

Kartik said: “I am happy everyone enjoyed watching me on screen again.

“All the praises that I received just gave me a sense of validation.”

“When you start off doing something new in life you want that validation and I think all the reviews, the appreciation posts on social media, all the messages and the phone calls I received validated my choice of work and choice of character.

“It was one of the most challenging roles of my career.

“I am thankful to the audience and everyone from the industry for loving it.

“So, from here on you will see me in more and more different avatars and a lot more challenging roles.”
