A Pakistani woman named Zara Qadeer was brutally murdered by her mother-in-law and sister-in-law.

The incident happened in Sialkot and it was reported that the 30-year-old was pregnant.

The shocking crime came to light when Zara’s father, Shabbir Ahmed, filed a missing person’s report after he lost contact with her.

Zara had been married to her cousin Qadeer Ahmed since 2020.

After marriage, they moved to Saudi Arabia and lived there until their son, Shafay, was born about two and a half years ago.

However, disputes arose between the Pakistani woman and her mother-in-law after Qadeer began transferring his earnings into Zara’s account.

This financial control led to escalating tensions within the family.

When Shabbir tried to speak to his daughter two days before filing the missing persons’ report, her phone was switched off.

Concerned for her safety, he visited her in-laws in Kotli Meeran, only to find out that she was not home.

Her in-laws claimed they were unaware of her whereabouts.

Shabbir later alleged that Zara had been subjected to torture by her mother-in-law, Sughran Naseer, and her sister-in-law, Yasmeen.

Following Shabbir’s complaint, the Motra Police Station registered an FIR against Sughran, Yasmeen, and several others, including Qasim Jameel and Abdullah.

During the investigation, police received information about a body discovered in a sewage drain, which was identified as Zara’s.

Reports indicated that her body had been dismembered, with parts sealed in sacks and disposed of in the drain.

Police arrested Sughran, Yasmeen, and Yasmeen’s son.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime.

They revealed that Zara Qadeer was suffocated with a pillow before being dismembered, and her face was burned to hinder identification.

Naveed then transported the body parts in five sacks to Lahore, where Sughran and her family disposed of them.

The investigation unravelled further when Sughran’s grandson confessed, providing details that led to the apprehension of those involved.

The case has shocked the community and they are demanding the strictest punishments for all involved.

Hina Pervaiz Butt, Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, remarked that the incident highlights the growing violence in society.

She expressed regret that, unlike typical cases of male violence, this incident involved women as perpetrators.

Hina stressed the importance of bringing those involved to justice and the urgent need to change societal attitudes toward violence.
