"The mum knocked at my door. It was horrible."
A man has been charged with attempted murder after he launched a frenzied attack on a family in east London.
Kulvinder Ram stabbed a woman and her two young children in Dagenham at around 5:30 pm on October 25, 2024.
The youngest victim was just two years old while his sister, who was also attacked, is eight.
Their neighbour Davey Holland forced his way into the property after the boy’s mother banged on his door to plead for help.
He said: “The mum knocked at my door. It was horrible. She was saying there’s a baby in the house, please help him.”
Mr Holland said he smashed a window and passed by the suspect, who was being treated by an off-duty officer, to get to the toddler.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and took the victims to hospital. Fortunately, their conditions are not life-threatening.
Officers arrested Ram at the scene and took him to hospital after he fell ill.
He was later discharged and taken into police custody.
In a statement, the Met Police said: “Kulvinder Ram, 48, of First Avenue, Dagenham will appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 October charged with three counts of attempted murder.

“Three people – a woman aged in her 30s, an eight-year-old girl and a two-year-old boy – were all found suffering stab injuries.
