"Bachelor Point is returning once again.”
After more than two years off the air, Bachelor Point is officially making a comeback for Season 5.
Kajal Arefin Ome confirmed on April 17, 2025, that work has begun on the show’s fifth season.
The announcement came via Ome’s Facebook page, where the director shared a teaser poster with the caption:
“After two and a half long years, Bachelor Point is returning once again.”
Originally debuting in 2018, Bachelor Point quickly became a cultural phenomenon for its humorous and relatable portrayal of bachelor life in urban Bangladesh.
The show introduced a memorable cast of characters.
These included Kabila, Habu, Shuvo, Pasha, Riya, Nabila, Sirin, Borhan, Antora, Zakir, and Shimul, who have become household names.
Despite its popularity, the series has not been without controversy.
Over the years, it has faced criticism from some viewers for occasional vulgar dialogue.
But that hasn’t stopped its rise in popularity across social media and digital platforms.
The last episode aired on December 24, 2022.
That marked the conclusion of a 116-episode run that left fans wondering when the bachelors would return.
Since then, anticipation for a fifth season has been high, with numerous rumours circulating.
No concrete updates had been given until Ome’s recent confirmation.
However, the timing of the announcement has stirred backlash.
Just two days before Ome’s post, veteran actress Gulshan Ara Ahmed passed away.
She was a beloved member of the Bachelor Point cast and some viewers felt the announcement should have been delayed out of respect.
One user commented: “It could’ve waited a few more days.”
Others said the series will not be the same without her presence.
The show has featured a wide ensemble cast over the years.
Actors like Marzuk Russell, Ziaul Haque Polash, Chashi Alam, Sharaf Ahmed Jibon, and Sabnam Faria brought colour to the screen.
It also included Sanjana Sarkar, Faria Shahrin, Shimul, Sumon Patwary, Parsa Evana, Ashutosh Sujon, Abdullah Rana, Pavel, and Monira Mithu.
With its comedic exploration of friendships, love, and the ups and downs of everyday life, Bachelor Point connected strongly with young urban audiences.
While no official premiere date has been shared, Ome noted that a full announcement is coming soon.
Despite mixed reactions, the buzz around Bachelor Point Season 5 shows the show still holds a special place in many hearts.
Whether it can maintain its charm without some familiar faces remains to be seen.
