"Too excited for this!"
After the success of Maharaj (2024), Junaid Khan is set to impress the audience once again.
It was rumoured that Junaid would star in a movie with Khushi Kapoor, but nothing was officially confirmed.
On September 17, 2024, producers took to Instagram to confirm the collaboration.
The untitled film was touted as a movie about “love, likes, and everything in between”.
The poster of the project featured a sketch of a boy and a girl, and the girl held a mobile phone.
Junaid Khan’s new film is set to be directed by Advait Chandan.
Advait has previously directed Junaid’s father, Aamir Khan, in Secret Superstar (2017) and Laal Singh Chaddha (2022).
Khushi’s sister Janhvi Kapoor commented: “You are so cute like a laddoo. Can’t wait.”
Another user said: “All the love and luck to you! Can’t wait for the date.”
A third fan wrote: “Too excited for this!”
The film is purported to be an adaptation of Love Today (2022).
In July 2024, Junaid Khan spoke about the influence that Aamir had on him.
He said: “[Aamir] has been doing this for 40 years now, he has seen everything.
“There is a lot to learn from just how he conducts himself.
“Failures affect him, but he takes the time to process it and then move on to learning from it.
“He will figure out what went wrong and proceed from there, so that’s his process, which is probably the best way to go about it.”
Junaid also delved into his mother, Reena Dutta’s impact. Reena and Aamir married in 1986 and divorced in 2002. They also have a daughter named Ira Khan.
Junaid continued: “My mother has a huge impact on my life. She is the one who brought me up.
“Papa is a very loving father, but he would be busy a lot in life. So, the one person who has shaped me the most as a person is my mother.
“But if there is a difficulty that I am going through, I can call anyone – Maa, Papa, Ira. They are always one phone call away.”
“Even Papa, who is incredibly busy, if you need to get a hold of him, it will not take you more than a couple of minutes, and if you need it, he will have all the time in the world you want.
“I have a supportive, open family. So whenever you want to talk, it is always open for discussion.”
Maharaj premiered on Netflix on June 21, 2024. The film earned Junaid great acclaim for his performance.
Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s new film is scheduled to be released on February 7, 2025.
