His latest work reflects the different sounds that have shaped Brit-Asians
UK Punjabi artist, producer and DJ Indy Sagu is continuing to develop his sound as he prepares for the release of his forthcoming album, EVOLUTION – IX I IV IV II V.
Currently releasing independently through Lioncore Records, Sagu’s music combines Punjabi and Bhangra influences with genres including Hip Hop, UK Garage, R&B and contemporary production.
His latest work reflects the different sounds that have shaped Brit-Asians while maintaining a connection to his Punjabi identity.
Sagu has released several projects in recent months, including ‘FIVE RIVERS’, ‘NAA DHARDHE’, ‘BURAHH FLIPPIN’ and ‘BULLETT’.
He has also released ‘BULLETT – CHILL MIX’, offering another interpretation of the track and showcasing the different directions within his production.
The releases come as Sagu builds towards EVOLUTION – IX I IV IV II V, which will continue his exploration of Punjabi music alongside contemporary UK sounds.
The album’s title also reflects the wider idea of evolution within his musical journey.
As an artist, producer and DJ, Sagu has developed his work across different areas of music rather than being restricted to a single genre.
His sound brings together elements associated with Punjabi and Bhangra music alongside influences from the UK’s Hip-Hop, Garage and R&B scenes.
This fusion reflects how British Asian artists continue to reinterpret sounds connected to their cultural backgrounds.
For Sagu, working independently also allows him to have greater control over his music and the direction of his creative output.
His recent releases provide a snapshot of this approach while leading towards his upcoming album.
The project arrives during a period when Punjabi music continues to have a strong presence within Britain’s wider music landscape.
British Asian artists have increasingly explored ways of combining Punjabi influences with contemporary genres, creating sounds that reflect both their cultural backgrounds and the environment around them.
Sagu’s music follows this tradition while adding his own production and DJ influences to the mix.
With several releases already available, listeners can explore Sagu’s evolving sound ahead of the album.
His latest music is available across major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
As EVOLUTION – IX I IV IV II V approaches, Sagu is continuing to build a body of work centred around independent creativity, Punjabi identity and genre experimentation.
The forthcoming project will add another chapter to his musical journey and his contribution to the evolving UK Punjabi sound.
