"Funny but not funny at the same time."
ITV got their Amir Khans mixed up and the TV medic was quick to point out the blunder.
Dr Khan shared his appearance on Tipping Point on Instagram, alongside TV presenter Anna Williamson and ex-footballer Stuart Pearce.
While the picture featured Dr Amir Khan, the episode description was about the former boxer.
It read: “Ben Shephard hosts as TV presenter Anna Williamson, former professional boxer Amir Khan and footballing legend Stuart Pearce put their wits to the test in aid of charity.”
In the comments section, some netizens were baffled by the mistake.
One wrote: “Funny but not funny at the same time.”
Another commented: “They had one job.”
Adil Ray simply wrote: “Ffs.”
Dr Khan highlighted the mistake but saw the funny side, captioning the post:
“I’ve retired from boxing to focus on my medical career.”
He also shared a fictional story about how he was a boxer.
Dr Khan wrote: “Professional boxing really took it out of me and finding a balance between being an Olympic medal-winning boxer and full-time GP just became impossible.
“So one day, whilst in the ring with #MamaKhan, she knocked some sense into me and I decided a choice needed to be made – boxing or GP.
“So that’s how I became a GP.”
Expressing gratitude for being on Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, Dr Khan added:
“This story is b****cks by the way, the computer who wrote this blurb online has got me mixed up with the legendary boxer, Amir Khan.
“It’s easy to do and has everything to do with our similar athletic physiques and nothing to do with having the same name!!
“Had a great time on tipping point with @benshephardofficial and @annawilliamsonofficial and Stuart Pearce – even though I did terribly!
“But our local hospice appreciated the money I did win x”

Highlighting the use of AI for the description, one said:
“That’s when not to use AI.”
