Rumours have been constantly circulating as to whether Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani are dating.
However, the relationship status of the Bollywood stars may now be confirmed.
Malhotra and Advani are due to appear together in the biopic Shershaah.
It is releasing on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, August 12, 2021.
Shershaah’s director Vishnuvardhan is making his Bollywood debut with the film, following his success in Tamil cinema.
Now, in a recent interview, he may have just outed the relationship between his two leading actors.
While speaking exclusively to BollywoodLife, Vishnuvardhan was asked whether Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani are actually dating.
He also discussed how much of a role their relationship has played in Shershaah’s success.
Vishnu Vardhan said:
“I’ll honestly tell you, that didn’t even matter to me while I was filming.
“It is not about Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra, for me it is Captain Vikram Batra and Dimple (Dimple Cheema, his real-life love interest); they were playing the characters.
“For me, it didn’t matter – just because they’re in a real-life something or whatever is happening, it’s their personal life, it’s not going to help me for the film.
“What really worked for me, if you see the trailer carefully, it’s the way Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani looked, their pairing is actually fresh – that’s what actually worked because they’re very close to the characters.
“For me, it doesn’t matter if it’s going to help or not, as a maker, I don’t think that’s a factor as such.
“Whether on screen they’re playing and off-screen they’re romancing, it doesn’t matter to me.”
Although he has not directly confirmed the relationship between Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, Vishnuvardhan has dropped some huge hints that they are officially dating.
Rumours of their pair’s relationship began back in 2018, when they were introduced at a dinner party hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar.
According to reports, the two exchanged numbers and spent time together following the party.
However, Malhotra denied the dating claims when they were first brought up.
In an interview, he said:
“Nahi year I met her only once at Karan Johar’s party. After that, I have not met her at all.”
Sidharth Malhotra also revealed that he does not speak about his private life with the media.
Discussing his reasons for this, he said:
“I am very protective about my relationships.”
