The explicit clip appeared to show Sourav and another young man, believed to be from Kolkata.
The influencer, who goes by the name Sourav Singh LLB on Instagram, was in a black vest while the friend was shirtless.
Both men are seen sitting on the floor drinking.
However, things took a turn when they became intoxicated.
They ended up having sex, with the matter being recorded.
The clip soon began circulating on social media and netizens quickly identified one of the men as Sourav Singh.
It was reported that the video appeared on Sourav’s Instagram page before being swiftly deleted.
The explicit video quickly received backlash as many accused Sourav of raping his drunk friend.
It led to Sourav deactivating his Instagram account and even sparked rumours that he had taken his own life.
However, the rumours were debunked when a viral video showed Sourav and the friend being confronted by angry locals.
In the clip, Sourav was heard saying that he never intended for the sex video to go viral or even be uploaded.
While he admitted to recording the video, Sourav insisted that he never leaked it.
According to the influencer, he sold the explicit content to one individual. That person was responsible for leaking it.
Sourav went on to tell the locals that he is an adult content creator.
Sourav also faced allegations that he has raped other men but the claims have not been proven.
On social media, netizens gave their thoughts on the situation.
One person said: “Dramas surrounding gay/LGBT people is a rarity in our countries, so when one does pop up, it always ends up being a circus for these idiots to point and laugh at – especially because of the subject’s taboo nature.”
Others said the explicit clip was CNC (Consensual Non-Consent), which is role-playing non-consensual sex.
One said: “My guys that’s a CNC scripted video.”
Nevertheless, netizens stated that it was a controversial theme, with one person commenting:
“The concept and the idea of that video is wrong so don’t compare.
“Think about the victims… people see these videos and get inspired to do the same.”
Another wrote: “They are angry because it’s based on a rape concept, not because he is gay.
