took him into his office for his “sexual excesses.”
An explicit video has sparked sexual misconduct allegations against Food and Civil Supplies Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak.
He is accused of promising a man a government job in exchange for sexual favours.
The video showed an older man, believed to be Kataruchak, on a FaceTime call with someone who is seen performing a sex act.
After the video went viral, a young man posted a video, stating that he had been the victim of sexual misconduct since 2013-2014.
He said it went on until 2021.
The victim confirmed it was Kataruchak in the video.

He alleged that the minister had sent him a Facebook friend request in 2013 or 2014.
When he accepted the friend request, Kataruchak allegedly began making sexual advances towards him.
According to the victim, Kataruchak asked to have a relationship with him. But he was too young at the time to understand anything.
He claimed that the minister later called him to Gurdaspur and took him into his office for his “sexual excesses.”
The alleged victim said that he last saw Kataruchak at a Diwali celebration in 2021.
The man said: “He then promised me a government job stating that he would become an MLA soon.
“After that, he did not meet me and asked me not to approach him.”
The victim also claimed that he is now on the run out of fear that the minister would harm him or his family.
It is reported that the explicit video was handed to Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira, who then sent it to Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit.
After Khaira submitted a complaint, Purohit asked the Chandigarh DGP to look into the complaint and examine the video.
An examination has since confirmed that it is Lal Chand Kataruchak in the video.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has seemingly shown his support for Lal Chand Kataruchak and claimed that he has not seen the videos.
At the same time, he slammed the Opposition and said that other politicians were upset due to his government’s popularity.
However, his apparent show of support caused controversy.
Former minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia called out Bhagwant Mann.
He said: “It has now come to light that the AAP minister committed sexual misconduct on the pretext of giving the youth a government job.
“The authenticity of the video, which was submitted to the Punjab Governor, has also been proved beyond doubt.”
“Despite that, the CM continues to support Kataruchak.”
The AAP was plunged into further controversy when Amit Puri, the personal assistant of Moga MLA, Dr Amandeep Kaur, was caught sexually abusing and threatening minors.
A video shows a seemingly nude Puri confessing his sexual relationship with a boy and begging for forgiveness.
