Three men have been arrested for allegedly abducting and gang-raping a 25-year-old Indian woman.

The incident took place on Sunday, March 1, 2020, in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

According to the victim, she was forced into a car and later raped by the men while the car was moving.

While three men have been detained, it was reported that three other men were involved.

The woman had been out for dinner with a male colleague at a hotel. As they walked towards their car, a man approached them asking for directions.

As the woman and her friend spoke to him, five more men surrounded them and began harassing them.

They then brandished weapons and forced them into their car.

The woman told police: “Six men started misbehaving with us. Later, they brandished a pistol and forced us into their car.”

The suspects drove to various places across the city as well as isolated areas. During this time, the men took turns to rape the woman.

The horrific ordeal lasted for most of the night.

In the early hours of March 2, the suspects stole the victims’ belongings before dropping them off by a deserted road.

It was alleged that the suspects took the woman’s gold chain as well as Rs. 56,000 (£590) in cash from the pair.

Following the incident, the pair went to their workplace and told their boss.

However, instead of alerting the police, the woman’s boss suggested that she take some medicine and rest.

At around 7 pm, the woman decided to go to the police.

Superintendent Anant Kumar said:

“It was around 7 pm on Monday evening the woman went to the police station and informed the police about it.”

Based on her statement, a case was registered against six men.

During the investigation, police found out that the man and woman both worked at an events management company in Udaipur.

The woman was originally from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, but lived in a flat in the city with three other young women. The man is from Mumbai but moved to the city with his family.

SI Kumar revealed that the man alleged that he was also sexually assaulted.

He went on to say that the Indian woman was sent for a medical examination.

The Times of India reported that three suspects have been arrested but police are still searching for the other men.

SI Kumar added: “We have detained three people based on her statement, while we are looking out for the other accused.”
