In a horrific murder case, an Indian man severed his wife’s head and paraded it to the police station on Saturday, February 1, 2020.

The shocking crime was carried out by Akhilesh Rawat from Bahadurpur in Uttar Pradesh, India.

According to a preliminary investigation, it was reported that the accused and his wife were involved in a domestic argument. This led to the gruesome incident.

After murdering his wife, the Indian man decapitated her. Rawat then carried her head in his hand to the Jahangirabad Police Station.

Upon witnessing this shocking scene, the police attempted to take the severed head from the Indian man.

According to several eye witness reports and a report by India Today, when the police officials tried to take his wife’s head, Rawat began singing the Indian national anthem.

It was further added that Rawat also chanted ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ as policemen tried to take his wife’s head.

After several minutes of the dispute between the officials and the Indian man, they were finally able to take hold of the severed head.

It remains unknown whether Rawat was under the influence of drugs or alcohol while committing the murder or when he went to the police.

According to an interaction with a news agency, the victim’s father claimed to know the reason behind his daughter’s unlawful killing.

He disclosed that he gave his daughter’s hand in marriage to Rawat approximately three years ago.

The father claimed that Rawat killed his daughter because he was unable to gift his son-in-law a gold chain.

His claims are currently being investigated by the police. It was also revealed that the Indian man and his wife have a six-month-old daughter.

As a result of this merciless act, the residents of the Bahadurpur village have been left in a state of shock and utter terror.

This rage of violence is not unknown to the people of Uttar Pradesh. In November 2019, a similar shocking incident took place in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

It was reported a television repair mechanic paraded his wife’s severed head into the Hari Parbat Police Station. This case is still on-going.

Meanwhile, Rawat has been taken into custody and charged with murder. The police continue to question the Indian man to discover what provoked him to carry out this dreadful murder.
