A strange incident occurred where an Indian man dressed up as a bride so that he could meet his lover on her wedding day.

The incident took place in the district of Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh.

The unnamed man knew that his girlfriend was all set to marry another man so he came up with a unique plan to meet her.

He entered her house whilst dressed as a bride.

The man wore a red bridal lehenga along with bangles. He also sported a long wig and makeup.

To make his disguise even more convincing, the young man had a purse and even wore sandals to the house.

When he reached the house, he entered whilst covering his face.

He asked to meet the bride, however, his body language and gestures made guests suspicious.

Guests and family members surrounded the Indian man before pulling off his veil in a bid to find out who the person was.

To their shock, the man’s wig came off and guests discovered that it was a man dressed as a woman.

When questioned, the man reportedly said that he was the bride’s lover and he had disguised himself to meet her.

It was reported that the man was slapped by several family members.

As guests went to inform the police, the man escaped with two friends who had been waiting outside the house on a bike.

Footage of the matter circulated on social media.

One user shared a video and wrote:

“India is a country of lovers.

“A guy dressed up like a bride to meet his lover who was getting married in Uttar Pradesh, Bhadohi.”

“This happens only in India.”

Netizens who saw the video laughed at the man’s elaborate plan to meet his lover.

One user said: “I can’t get over how he also cannot get hold of the purse.”

The netizen added that purses are a “pain in the a**” for everyone.

According to reports, the man and his friends came up with the plan.

However, the man’s disguise was exposed, preventing him from meeting his girlfriend.

A complaint has not yet been registered with the police.

It is also not known why the man decided to dress up as a bride before entering the house.
