"Amir and I are moving to London in six to ten months"
Faryal Makhdoom and Amir Khan held a lavish party for their youngest daughter Alayna to celebrate her first birthday.
It was a rainforest-themed party at the University of Bolton Stadium, costing £75,000.
It was the same venue where the couple hosted their £150,000 engagement party and eldest daughter’s £100,000 second birthday celebration.
While Alayna actually turned one in April 2019, the party was held in early June ahead of the family’s move to London.
There had been rumours that they were looking to move out of Bolton. Now it seems the couple are going through with it.
Faryal went all out by transforming the venue into an Amazonian-inspired rainforest, complete with statues of exotic animals, vibrant bushes and a glossy jungle-print dancefloor by designers Enchanted by Syma.
The party was planned by Opulence Events London and upon arrival, guests were greeted to jungle-themed banners.
They read: “Alayna’s Jungle”, “Do not feed the lions”, “Beware of the alligators” and “Watch out!”.
Guests were also treated to an impressive dance performance by women dressed in animal-style catsuits.
As well as the sparkling lights and greenery, the venue was also decorated with monkey toys which clung onto a mini rope.
On each dining table, branched ornamental light fixtures, dainty candles and floral centrepieces were featured.
Khan and his family made sure that they stood out in their coordinated black outfits.
Faryal wore a black crop top and a brightly-coloured embroidered maxi skirt. She also went for a curly half up half down hairdo complete with glamorous make-up.
Amir Khan sported a dark velvet suit with a sleek bow tie, while Alayna wore a black ruffled dress with bedazzled shoes.
The Daily Mail reported that Faryal Makhdoom explained that they wanted to celebrate in Bolton before they move to London later in 2019.
She said: “Amir and I are moving to London in six to ten months, we’re just finalising on our new home.
“We are moving to London as the education is better for kids, it’s a bigger city and it’ll be similar to New York.
“Amir’s boxing related stuff is mostly based there and the commute right now is a killer so it’ll be nice.”
It is no surprise that they spent £75,000 on their daughter’s milestone birthday especially since they spent £1 million on their New York wedding in 2013.
In 2016, Faryal organised Lamaisah’s second birthday party which saw 250 guests and took three months to plan.
Faryal hired Disney princesses, Peppa Pig and a ballerina to entertain guests. Amir said at the time:
“When I walked in, the first thing I said was, ‘Wow!’ My wife did an amazing job.’
“I was busy training when she was planning this, but every day I was getting crazy bills and thinking, ‘What’s this for?’
“Every penny spent on my daughter is worth it, though. After all, all this hard work I do is for her, for my kid.”
The lavish party comes after Faryal’s feud with her in-laws. In the past, she has been accused of being a gold digger and being a bad mother.
Faryal and Amir have also suffered obstacles which are due to Khan’s alleged infidelity.
Reports also emerged that the boxer has not spoken to his parents for six months. His father Shah Khan revealed that it was due to a resurfaced feud.
He blamed Faryal and her mother for trying to control Amir’s life. Shah stated that both of them are in his head.
The Khan family publicly fell out in 2016 and 2017. Faryal accused them of bullying while they called her a bad mother.
The feud even prompted Khan to wrongly accuse his wife of having an affair with Anthony Joshua and they briefly split up.
Even though Shah and Faryal Makhdoom buried the hatchet at one point, he said:
“Deep down, I don’t think she (Faryal) ever liked me.”
Shah revealed that the reports of his son house hunting in Berkshire in a bid to save his marriage “annoyed” him.
He said: “That really annoyed me. I’d like him (Amir) to tell me what’s the family saying to you?
“The family has been doing its own thing for the past six months.
“We’ve not even spoken to the guy so what the hell is his problem. The family’s not saying anything to him.”
“The bottom line is that Amir’s mother-in-law and wife want him as far away from his family as possible. They don’t any of us around him.
“It’s up to him, if that’s what they want, fine, be happy. I’ve no problem with it. It annoys you, upsets you, but fine.”
Amir Khan is scheduled to face Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat on July 12, 2019, in Saudi Arabia.
